The Saint-Nicolas is a small river in the southern Vosges , in the Territoire de Belfort department . Hydrologically and hydrographically , it is the upper reaches of the Bourbeuse .

The river has its source at an altitude of 840 meters on the slopes of the Ballon de Saint-Nicolas , in the municipality of Rougemont-le-Château . It generally drains south and joins the Madeleine after about 30 kilometers at Autrechêne to form the Bourbeuse River.
