Saint-Symphorien is a town and a commune déléguée in the southern French commune of Bel-Air-Val-d'Ance with 235 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . The inhabitants are called Saint-Symphorians .

The municipality of Saint-Symphorien was merged with Chambon-le-Château on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Bel-Air-Val-d'Ance. It belonged to the Arrondissement of Mende and the Canton of Grandrieu .

geography

Saint-Symphorien is located on the Ance River and in the Mont Lozère massif . Saint-Symphorien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thoras in the north and west, Chambon-le-Château in the northeast, Saint-Christophe-d'Allier in the east, Saint Bonnet-Laval in the southeast, Grandrieu in the south and Saint-Paul-le-Froid in the southwest.
