economy

The valley of Culpina produces more than 80 percent of the Bolivian onion variety Cebolla rosada .

From Sucre, the paved road Ruta 5 leads in a south-westerly direction to Potosí , the capital of the department bordering to the west. From here the Ruta 1 leads south , which is still paved for the first 37 kilometers to Cuchu Ingenio . After another 146 kilometers, the Ruta 1 reaches the city of Camargo . Another 19 kilometers south of Camargo, a dirt road branches off in an easterly direction, crosses the Río Camblaya and overcomes an altitude difference of 600 m over the next 47 kilometers to Culpina .
