The municipality of Culpina is a district in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Culpina is one of three municipalities in the Sud Cinti province and includes its eastern area. It is bordered to the west by the Municipio Villa Abecia , to the south and southeast by the Tarija department , to the east by the province of Hernando Siles , and to the north by the province of Nor Cinti .
The municipality extends between about 20 ° 31 'and 21 ° 09' south latitude and 64 ° 10 'and 65 ° 12' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 100 kilometers, from north to south up to 70 kilometers .
The municipality comprises 108 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Culpina with 2,608 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northwestern part of the district.

The Municipio Culpina is located on the southern foothills of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , in the transition area between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east. The climate is a cool, moderate mountain climate with a typical time of day climate , in which the temperature differences fluctuate more strongly during the day than during the year.
The annual average temperature in the district is around 14 ° C (see Culpina climate diagram), the monthly average values fluctuate between almost 10 ° C in June / July and 16 ° C from November to March.
