Salavat A. Shcherbakov

Salawat Alexandrovich Shcherbakov ( Russian Салава́т Алекса́ндрович Щербако́в ; born January 17, 1955 in Moscow ) is a Russian sculptor .

life and work

Shcherbakov is a professor and a member of the Russian Academy of Arts and has been a People's Artist of the Russian Federation since 2011 .

He created numerous monuments in Moscow such as B. the monument to Tsar Alexander I in the Alexander Garden or the monumental, 17 meter high monument to Vladimir I as well as in other Russian cities including Sankt-Peterburg , Khabarovsk , Gorno-Altaysk , Kaliningrad and Simferopol , where the monument to the "Polite people" is located.

His works outside Russia include the monument to Louise von Baden in Baden-Baden , the Geidar Aliyev monument in Baku and the victory monument in Netanya . In addition, Shcherbakov created a number of busts and memorial plaques .
