Salomon Lezoutié

Salomon Lezoutié (born April 8, 1958 in Yopougon , Ivory Coast ) is an Ivorian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Yopougon .

Life

Salomon Lezoutié first studied economics in Abidjan before entering the local seminary. He was ordained a priest on July 23, 1989 . In 1995 he received his doctorate theologiae , and from 1997 to 2005 he taught Biblical theology at the Abidjan Seminary.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 29, 2005 Bishop of Odienné . He received his episcopal ordination on October 8th of the same year by the Bishop of Yopougon, Laurent Akran Mandjo ; Co- consecrators were Maurice Konan Kouassi , Bishop of Daloa , and Marie-Daniel Dadiet , Archbishop of Korhogo . On January 3, 2009, the Pope appointed him coadjutor bishop in his hometown of Yopougon. With the resignation of Laurent Akran Mandjo on November 28, 2015, he succeeded him as Bishop of Yopougon.

In the Ivorian Bishops' Conference, Lezoutié chairs the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy.
