The Diocese of Daloa ( Latin : Dioecesis Daloaensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Daloa on the Ivory Coast . It includes the regions of Haut-Sassandra and Marahoué .
history
Pope Pius XII founded with the Bull Quo intra the Apostolic Vicariate Sassandra on April 9, 1940 from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Ivory Coast .
With the Apostolic Constitution Dum tantis it was elevated to a diocese on September 14, 1955 and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Abidjan as a suffragan .
It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:
- June 25, 1956 to the Diocese of Gagnoa ;
- June 8, 1968 to the Diocese of Man ;
- December 19, 1994 to the Diocese of Odienné .
