The Archdiocese of Gagnoa ( Latin : Archidioecesis Gagnoaensis ) is a Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Gagnoa on the Ivory Coast . It includes the Sud-Bandama and Fromager regions .
history
Pope Pius XII founded the diocese with the bull Sanctissimum ac gravissimum on June 25, 1956 from cession of territory by the diocese Daloa and it was subordinated to the archdiocese of Abidjan as a suffragan .
On October 23, 1989, it lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the diocese of San Pedro-en-Côte d'Ivoire . With the Apostolic Constitution Cum in Litore Eburneo on December 19, 1994 it was raised to the rank of metropolitan archbishopric .
