The Salzwedeler Kleinbahn No. 5 was a triple-coupled narrow-gauge locomotive manufactured by the Henschel company in 1903 .

history

The locomotive was built for the meter gauge Salzwedeler Kleinbahnen . However, this was re-tracked in the 1920s, so that the locomotive was superfluous. In 1928 it was sold to the Franzburger Kreisbahnen (FKB). Here it was given the number 9 in a second occupation, plus a superscript o as the type symbol. It did not quite correspond to the usual designation, as this was intended for triple-coupled locomotives with 6 t axle pressure in 750 mm gauge. The locomotive performed well on the FKB and was still in use when the line was dismantled in 1970. Under the management of the Pomeranian State Railways she got the no. 130 in the German Reichsbahn from 1949, no. 99 5611. After her retirement in 1970 she was three years later in the depot Wernigerode worked -Westerntor again.

In 1973, 99 5611 and 99 5001 were sold to a French private citizen. The new owner used the locomotive on the museum railway Dunières - St. Agrève. The locomotive ran there until 1985. For this purpose, the water tanks were lengthened and the exterior, such as the color and the signage, was adapted to French tastes.

In 2010 the modified 99 5611, together with 99 5001, was in a hall in the Rhône Valley. The collection of Monsieur Prévot is housed in Portes-les-Valence. It cannot be visited.

The museum railway Dunières - St. Agrève, meanwhile neglected, has almost been demolished. Revived in 2002 after a new beginning, only French railcars run there.

technical features

The inner frame of the locomotive was designed as a water tank. The locomotive had spoked wheels with a counterweight, the third axle was driven, the locomotive had an Allan control with flat slides. The steam dome was on the front section of the boiler behind the chimney, the Ramsbottom safety valve was located directly in front of the driver's cab. The boxes for the coal supplies were in front of the driver's cab. At the DR, the lighting was switched to electric lighting.
