Location of the Heeseberg municipality in the Helmstedt district | ||
In the Heeseberg joint municipality in the Helmstedt district in Lower Saxony , four municipalities have come together to deal with their administrative business.
The municipalities
On November 1, 2016, the previous municipalities Ingeleben , Söllingen and Twieflingen were merged into a new municipality of Söllingen by resolution of the Lower Saxony State Parliament .
politics
After the resignation of the mayor of the municipality Lutz Winter on October 1, 2012, the administration was led by his general representative Mark-Henry Spindler for around three years. Due to the resolution of the joint municipality council to start merger negotiations with the member municipalities, a new election of the joint municipality mayor was waived. The plans to merge all member communities failed, but the three communities Ingeleben, Söllingen and Twieflingen were able to agree on a merger on November 1, 2016.
The election of the mayor of the municipality, which became necessary as a result, took place on November 8, 2015. Since none of the three candidates was able to achieve an absolute majority, a runoff election took place on November 22nd. In this, the non-party Martin Hartmann was elected as the new mayor of the municipality with 57.26% of the valid votes. The turnout was 51.88% in the first ballot and 45.37% in the runoff ballot.
coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved by the district on August 8, 1978.
The Adonisröschen , a rare flower in nature and even more rare in heraldry, but which is still growing here, adorns the coat of arms of the Samtgemeinde on a green hill. The silver tower represents the Heeseberg tower, from which the view can wander over the entire municipality.
The Samtgemeinderat adopted this coat of arms on April 4, 1978.
The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Wilhelm Krieg.
