Twieflingen is a district of the municipality of Söllingen in the Lower Saxony district of Helmstedt .

Twieflingen is located south of the Elm-Lappwald nature park . The place belongs to the joint municipality of Heeseberg , which has its administrative seat in the municipality of Jerxheim .

history

On March 1, 1974, the communities Dobbeln and Wobeck were incorporated. Since November 1, 2016, Dobbeln, Twieflingen and Wobeck have been part of the municipality of Söllingen.

On November 1, 2016, the previous municipalities Ingeleben , Söllingen and Twieflingen were merged into a new municipality of Söllingen by resolution of the Lower Saxony State Parliament .

In 2017, the volunteer fire brigade stopped its active duty due to insufficient staff.

Twieflingen has been represented at the municipal level by the Söllingen municipal council since 2016 .

Twieflingen is a good one kilometer northwest of the federal highway 244 , which leads from Helmstedt to Wernigerode , and about one kilometer south of the federal highway 82 Schöningen - Schöppenstedt - Goslar .

The place is integrated into the Braunschweig Region Transport Association . The bus routes 371 and 397 of the Kraftverkehrsgesellschaft Braunschweig connect Twieflingen with the nearest cities Schöningen and Schöppenstedt. The nearest train stations are 11 km to the west in Schöppenstedt on the Wolfenbüttel – Schöppenstedt line and 15 km to the north in Helmstedt on the Braunschweig – Magdeburg line .
