The transport association, which had existed since November 1, 1998, was temporarily threatened with liquidation, as several of the participating transport companies were pushing for a change in the distribution of income and had terminated the association agreement at the end of 2005.

In December 2016, the then regional Braunschweig tariff was renamed the Braunschweig Region Transport Association.
