The joint municipality of Hitzacker (Elbe) was a joint municipality in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . Three communities were united in it to carry out their administrative business. The administrative seat of the community was Hitzacker .

On November 1, 2006, it merged with the Dannenberg (Elbe) community to form the new Elbtalaue community.
