Samuel Hürzeler (born March 9, 1984 in Därligen ) is a Swiss triathlete .

Career

Samuel Hürzeler was active in swimming in his youth, before he switched to triathlon in 2007. He grew up in Därligen on Lake Thun and now lives in Gwatt near Thun.

In August 2011 he won the Inferno Triathlon on the short distance (without the swimming distance) and in 2014 and 2015 he was able to repeat this success.

In 2011 and 2012 he also won the Swiss Olympic Gigathlon in the singles category. In this competition, which consists of five disciplines, daily distances of an average of 4 km swimming, 100 km road cycling, 50 km mountain biking, 25 km inline skating and 20 km running must be covered over several days.

He has had the Ironman professional license since 2014 and he mainly starts on the long distance triathlon. In 2014 an official "Samuel Hürzeler Fan Club" was also launched.
In August 2019, the 35-year-old won the Inferno Triathlon for the sixth time in the Bernese Oberland .
Hürzeler also works as a sports teacher and fitness trainer.
