Samuel Passavant

Samuel Passavant (born February 10, 1787 in Frankfurt am Main ; † December 5, 1855 there ) was a merchant and member of the Frankfurt line of the Passavant family , which goes back to his great-grandfather Rudolf Emanuel Passavant .

Samuel Passavant was the son of the Frankfurt merchant Philipp Jakob Passavant (1748–1821). He took over the business with English manufactured goods and iron goods from his father. Together with his brother Philipp Jakob Passavant (1782-1856), Samuel was the founder of the Passavant brothers , which became an important silk / textile wholesaler in the free city of Frankfurt am Main.

Samuel Passavant married Maria Elisabeth nee Ziegler (* 1793). His son Ernst Passavant became a lawyer and member of parliament. Another son was Philipp Gustav Passavant , Sara Susanne Mathilde Passavant a daughter.

From 1846 to 1848 he was a member of the Legislative Body .
