San Luis is a town in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Luis is the second largest town in the canton of La Angostura in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) El Torno in the province of Andrés Ibáñez . The village is located at an altitude of 629 m on the left bank of the Río Piraí between the cities of El Torno and La Angostura . To the northwest of the village, the ridge of the Serranía San Luis rises to a height of 629 m .

San Luis is located in a tropical, humid climate on the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . The region was covered by subtropical rainforest before colonization , but is now mostly cultivated land .
The mean average temperature of the region is 24 ° C, the annual precipitation is 950 mm (see climate diagram La Angostura). Due to the immigration history of the population, the region has a significant proportion of Quechua population, in the Municipio El Torno 27.7 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
