Sancho Tracy Constance Lyttle (born September 20, 1983 in Kingstown , St. Vincent and the Grenadines ) is a professional basketball player. She now has Spanish citizenship. She currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury team in the Women's National Basketball Association and until 2017 for UGMK Yekaterinburg in the Euroleague Women and the Russian Basketball Superleague .

Career

college

Until 2005, Sancho Lyttle played for the Houston Cougars , the University of Houston women's basketball team .

Women's National Basketball Association

Sancho Lyttle was selected fifth in the 2005 WNBA Draft by the Houston Comets . In the 2005 season she played in 33 of 34 season games for the Comets, but she was never in the starting lineup of the Comets. This season she averaged 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with an average playing time of 13.9 minutes per game. In the 2006 season she was at least twice in the starting line-up of the Comets, but her playing time was reduced slightly, so her points average fell to 3.7 points per game, but she was able to increase her rebound average to 3.9 rebounds per game. In the 2007 season she was 25 times in the starting lineup of the Comets. Since she got a little more playing time with 16.3 minutes per game, she already scored 5.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. On July 31, 2007, she set a personal record with 15 points against the Phoenix Mercury . In 2008 she was no longer in the starting line-up that often, but still got more playing time and also scored more points per game. After this season, the Comets stopped playing and the players were distributed to other teams as part of the 2009 WNBA Draft . Lyttle was selected as the first player in the Atlanta Dream in the Dispersal Draft . There she was regularly in the starting line-up and was also able to increase her statistical values ​​further. With the Dream team, she reached the WNBA finals three times in the 2010 , 2011 and 2013 seasons , but each of them could not be won. Even if her statistical values ​​had decreased in the last season in Atlanta, she was still a support in her team. From the 2018 season she played for the Phoenix Mercury team. Due to an injury this season ended prematurely for her.

Europe

During the WNBA season break, Lyttle plays like many WNBA players in Europe. After playing for Spanish clubs at the beginning of her career, she was most recently on the field for teams in Turkey and Russia.

National team

At the beginning of her career, Lyttle played for the national team of her native country St. Vincent and the Grenadines. In 2010 Lyttle received Spanish citizenship. With the national team of this country she took part in the 2010 World Cup and won the bronze medal. In 2011 she finished ninth with the Spanish team at the 2011 European Championship .
