Sandra Locher Benguerel (born September 16, 1975 in Solothurn ; resident in Hasle near Burgdorf ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Sandra Locher Benguerel grew up in Lüterkofen-Ichertswil in the canton of Solothurn . She trained as a teacher at the cantonal teachers' seminar in Solothurn and from 1996 taught in the cantons of Solothurn, St. Gallen and Graubünden as a primary school teacher. Since 2005 she has been teaching at the Scola Bilingua in Chur and since 2002 she has been teaching as a practical teacher at the University of Education in Graubünden , where she has been a member of the University Council since 2014. She is married and lives in Chur.

Sandra Locher Benguerel has been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Graubünden since 2010 , where she was President of the Commission for Education and Culture from 2010 to 2014. Since 2014 she has been Vice President of the Commission for Education and Culture and since 2010 parliamentary group Vice President of the SP.

In the national parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Locher Benguerel was elected to the National Council for the SP .

Locher Benguerel has been a member of the cantonal party executive since 2008 and was a member of the management of the SP Graubünden from 2009 to 2016. Sandra Locher Benguerel has been a member of the management board since 2007 and President of the Association of Teachers of the Grisons since 2015 . She has been president of the cantonal girls' parliament since 2015 and since 2014 president of the support group for the supply project in cooperation with the Graubünden women's cultural archive.
