Magdalena Martullo-Blocher (born August 13, 1969 in Männedorf ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and SVP politician . Residing in the canton of Zurich , she is the majority shareholder and executive vice-chairwoman of the board of directors as well as the delegate of the board of directors of Ems-Chemie Holding AG, based in Graubünden . She has been a national councilor since 2015 .

Career

Martullo-Blocher studied at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) Business Administration and graduated with a licentiate from. From 1994 to 1996 she was Product Manager at Johnson & Johnson . From 1996 to 2000 she was Marketing Manager for Switzerland at Rivella AG . As such, she was also a member of the extended management team. In January 2001 he joined the Ems Group; in August of the same year she became a member of the board of directors and has been its vice-chairman since August 2002.

When her father, Christoph Blocher, was elected to the Federal Council in the Federal Council elections in 2003 and passed his participation on to his four children, the daughter, who was heavily pregnant at the time, took over management of the company in January 2004. At the same time it became a co-owner with a qualified minority stake .

Martullo-Blocher has been a member of the board of Scienceindustries since June 2004 and heads the Economic Committee (as of 2019).

Martullo-Blocher was elected in the Swiss parliamentary elections 2015 on a list of the SVP Graubünden as a career changer in politics as a member of the National Council and is politically active in the Commission for Economy and Taxes (WAK) and in the constituency.

On March 24, 2018, after the resignation of her father, she was elected a member of the party leadership committee and a vice-president of the SVP.

Private life

Martullo-Blocher is married to Roberto Martullo, the former president of SVP Meilen . They have three children together and live there in the Feldmeilen district.
