Silva Anita Semadeni (born February 8, 1952 in Basel ; resident in Poschiavo ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Silva Semadeni grew up in Poschiavo . It has at the Universities of Zurich , Florence studied and Berlin history, folklore and Italian Literature and in 1981 with the Licentiate completed. Semadeni worked as a canton school teacher . From 1994 to 1996 she was a member of the municipal council (city parliament) of Chur . From 1995 to 1999 she was a member of the National Council. In 2011 she was re-elected to the National Council, of which she was a member until 2019. Her political priorities are nature, the environment, energy and culture.

She has been President of Pro Natura since 2002 and was a member of the Pro Helvetia Foundation Board from 2000 to 2008 . Semadeni was a member of the Federal National Park Commission (ENPK), the commission for the Swiss Landscape Fund (FLS). She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Industrial Companies of the City of Chur (IBC) and the Board of Trustees of Pro Kloster St. Johann in Müstair ,

Semadeni is married and lives in Chur.
