Sankt Othmar is a wasteland in the northern district of Aichach-Friedberg and part of the municipality of Pöttmes in the Handzell district . Handzell was incorporated with Sankt Othmar and its other parts of the municipality on April 1, 1972 in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria in the Pöttmes market.

The place is located on a 471 meter high north-western side summit of the 472 meter high Gänsberg . The townscape is shaped by the Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Othmar, a branch church of the parish of Gundelsdorf . The 1987 census found a residential building with four residents.

history

The church was built in the 15th century over a previous Romanesque building. The sexton's house attached to it, the only residential building in town and now privately owned, probably dates from around 1756.
