Immendorf is a church village and part of the market Pöttmes in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria . The hamlet of Wagesenberg is also located in the district of the same name .

location

Immendorf is located south of Pöttmes in the Danube-Isar hill country . In terms of natural space, it belongs to the Lower Bavarian hill country , which in turn is part of the Alpine Foreland , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany . The district of Wagesenberg is still on the Aindlinger terrace staircase , part of the Danube-Iller-Lech-Platte . The boundary between the two geological plates leads directly through the district.
Wagesenberg is located west of Immendorf on the northeast-southwest running state road St 2035 from Neuburg an der Donau to Augsburg . The village of Immendorf lies exactly in the middle between the state road St 2035 and the northwest-southeast running district road AIC 1 from Pöttmes to Aichach .

The neighboring towns of Immendorf and Wagesenberg are the main town Pöttmes in the north, Dieß and Au in the east, Aumühle , Sedlbrunn and Handzell in the south and Stuben in the west.

history

Noteworthy are the Wagesenberg ski jump from the early Middle Ages and the Wagesenberg castle stables from the High Middle Ages, both of which are located near Wagesenberg in the Ebenrieder Forest.

Immendorf means Dorf des Immo or Dorf des Imo .
It was first mentioned in the 12th century as Imindorf. In the 14th century, the Monheim monastery owned Immendorf. In the 16th century other landlords were the church foundation of Pöttmes and the lords of Gumppenberg .

Immendorf with its district Wagesenberg was an independent municipality in the district of Aichach until January 1st, 1970 and was the first village to be incorporated into the Pöttmes market on that day.

Architectural monuments

The Catholic branch church St. Anna with choir and saddle roof tower from the second half of the 15th century and the nave, which was renovated around 1738, is entered in the Bavarian monument list under file number D-7-71-156-35 . The church has always belonged to the parish of St. Peter and Paul in Pöttmes .
