Sansevieria subspicata is a species of the genus Sansevieria in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). The specific epithet subspicata comes from Latin and means 'lower (below) maximum level'.
description
Sansevieria subspicata grows stemless as a perennial , succulent plant with 1.3 to 2.5 centimeters thick, pale yellowish to brown rhizomes . The four to ten upright or backward-curved leaves are lanceolate in shape. The simple leaf blade is 23 to 60 inches long and 2.5 to 5.5 inches wide. It is narrowed from the middle or just above it into a 4 to 23 centimeter long and 4 to six millimeter thick runny stem. This ends in a 4 to 6 millimeter long, green, soft, awl spider tip. The leaves are deep green, sometimes with a slight bluish tinge. The edge of the spread is green, turning whitish with age. The leaf surface is smooth.
The single- eared inflorescences are 30 to 40 centimeters high. The panicles are loosely covered with one or two flowers per tuft. The bracts are 2 to 6 millimeters long and lanceolate. The flower stalk is 1 to 2 millimeters long. The bracts are greenish white. The flower tube is 2 to 3 centimeters in size. The white tips are 1.5 to 2 inches long.

Sansevieria subspicata is common in Mozambique and partly in South Africa.
