economy
In the past, the inhabitants lived mainly as self-sufficient farmers from agriculture, which also included keeping cattle ( mainly cattle, pigs, sheep and goats). Today forestry and tourism in the form of renting out holiday homes ( cases rurals ) are the most important sources of income for the population.
history
From prehistoric , Iberian , Roman - ancient , Visigothic and Islamic times , no traces of settlement have been found. There can hardly be any talk of a reconquest ( reconquista ) of the sparsely populated region. The first mention of the place comes from the year 905; at that time the first church was consecrated. The construction of today's church began in 1066; it was probably completed in the 11th century and formed the religious, cultural and economic core of the settlement for centuries.
