Santo Antônio de Leverger , officially Portuguese Município de Santo Antônio de Leverger , simply called Leverger , is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Mato Grosso . The population was estimated on July 1, 2019 at 16,628 inhabitants, who live in a large community area of around 9442.5 km² and are optionally called Santo-Antonienser ( santo-antonienses ) or Levergenser ( levergenses ). The population density was calculated to be 1.5 people per km². It belongs to the geostatistical greater region Região Centro-Oeste . The distance to the capital Cuiabá is 27 km, Leverger is part of the metropolitan region Vale do Rio Cuiabá .
geography
Surrounding communities are Chapada dos Guimarães , Campo Verde , Jaciara , Juscimeira , Rondonópolis , Itiquira , Barão de Melgaço , Nossa Senhora do Livramento , Várzea Grande and Cuiabá .
In 1953 it lost over half of the area and about a third of the population to the newly founded municipality of Barão de Melgaço. After a recovery since 2010, the population is estimated to be declining again.

The community has a tropical climate, Aw according to the Köppen and Geiger climate classification . The average temperature is 25.9 ° C. The average rainfall is 1212.6 mm per year. In the southern summer there is significantly more rainfall in Leverger than in the southern winter.
