Santos Montoya Torres (born June 22, 1966 in Solana , Castile-La Mancha , Spain ) is a Spanish Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Madrid .

Life

Santos Montoya Torres graduated from the Autonomous University of Madrid with a degree in chemistry in 1993 . He received on 18 June 2000, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

From 2001 to 2002 Montoya Torres was Vice Director of the Small Seminary in Madrid and its Director from 2002 to 2012. In addition, from 2006 to 2008 he worked in the pastoral parish of Purísimo Corazón . In 2012 Santos Montoya Torres obtained a degree in Catholic theology from the Dámaso University in Madrid . He then became pastor of the parish of Beata María Ana de Jesús . In addition, Montoya Torres has been archpriest since 2015 as well as a member of the priestly council and the college of consultors of the Archdiocese of Madrid.

On 29 December 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Horta and auxiliary bishop in Madrid. He was ordained episcopal on February 17, 2018 in the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de La Almudena by the Archbishop of Madrid Carlos Cardinal Osoro Sierra ; Co- consecrators were the Senior Archbishop of Madrid Antonio María Cardinal Rouco Varela and Archbishop Renzo Fratini , Apostolic Nuncio in Spain.
