Sarah Eichler (born June 30, 1987 in Neustadt in Holstein ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Eichler played indoor volleyball at home TSV Neustadt since 1999. The outside attacker later played in the Regionalliga Nord at TuS Holtenau and from 2005 at FT Adler Kiel , with whom she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009 and played one season for Kiel TV . In 2010/11 Eichler played at league competitor SG Rotation Prenzlauer Berg .

Career Beach

Eichler played beach volleyball at Schleswig-Holstein and later also at German youth championships since 2002. With Janina Krohe she was German U19 runner-up here in Kiel in 2004 and German U18 runner-up at Bostalsee . In 2005 Katharina Schillerwein was her partner. Eichler / Schillerwein started in the national tournament series and finished fifth at the U19 World Cup in Saint-Quay-Portrieux, France . In 2006 Eichler played on the Smart Beach Tour , mainly alongside her teammate Katharina Hinrichsen . In 2007 she took a break on the beach and in 2008 only played two tournaments with Katharina Schillerwein. In 2009 Kathrin Rübensam was her new partner, with whom she became German university champion in Kiel. At her first German championship in Timmendorfer Strand , Eichler again took part on the side of Katharina Schillerwein. In 2010 Eichler played with various partners at national tournaments. 2011 was the most successful year at the beach alongside Sarah Hoppe Eichler. Eichler / Hoppe took third place at the Smart Beach Cup in Heidelberg , fourth place at the Smart Super Cup in Sankt Peter-Ording and 13th place at the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand. After a few more tournaments with Sarah Hoppe, Eichler ended her beach career in the summer of 2012.

Eichler studied sport at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and is now a sports scientist at the University of Potsdam .
