The Sarthon is a river in France that runs in the Orne department in the Normandy region . It rises in the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park , on the municipal boundary of Rouperroux and Saint-Ellier-les-Bois , initially drains in a south-easterly direction, then turns south and, after around 25 kilometers, flows into the right tributary at Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei the Sarthe . In its lower reaches, the Sarthon forms the border with the neighboring Mayenne department in the Pays de la Loire region .
