Saskia Bos

Saskia Bos (* before 1970 in The Hague ) is a Dutch exhibition maker , museum director and art historian .

Life

Bos was born in The Hague. As the daughter of a Dutch naval officer and an artistically gifted mother, she grew up in different places ( Curaçao , Japan and France ). Initially enrolled in economics and law , Saskia Bos quickly switched to art history , history and media technology at the University of Amsterdam . She got the master's . In the mid-1970s she made art programs for Dutch radio and television.

From 1984 to 2005 Saskia Bos was artistic director and manager of the Museum De Appel in Amsterdam . Bos was President of the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art from 1999 to 2002 . In 2005 she followed a call as Dean at the School of Art at the Cooper Union in New York City .

Saskia Bos worked as a consultant at the Yokohama Triennale , documenta 11 (2002) in Kassel, the Moscow Biennale (2007) and the SculptureCenter in New York City (2007).
