Amphoe Sawaeng Ha ( Thai อำเภอ แสวงหา , pronunciation: [ ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː sàwɛ̌ːŋ hǎː ]) is the northernmost district ( amphoe ) of Ang Thong Province . Ang Thong Province is located in the middle of the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Khai Bang Rachan and Tha Chang in the province of Sing Buri , Pho Thong District Ang Thong province and Amphoe Si Prachan , Sam Chuk and Doem Bang Nang Buat of the province of Suphan Buri .

history

In the north of Sawaeng Ha is the old settlement of Ban Khu Mueang , which dates from the Dvaravati period.

The Tambon Sawaeng Ha was mentioned in the Royal Chronicles of Ayutthaya .

In 1945 the area around the Tambon Si Bua Thong was very rural, with dense jungle between the provinces of Suphan Buri and Sing Buri , which is why criminals often hid here. The government assembled a police force in Tambon Sawaeng Ha to evict them.

Sawaeng Ha was first established on January 1, 1948 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating five districts from Amphoe Pho Thong. In 1956 it was promoted to Amphoe.

Attractions

  • In Ban Khu Mueang in Tambon Huai Phai, archaeologists discovered ruins of an ancient city that may have existed as early as the Dvaravati period.
  • Wat Ban Phran - Buddhist temple ( Wat ) in Tambon Si Phran, which was founded at the end of the Sukhothai period.

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Phet Mueang Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เพชร เมืองทอง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Sawaeng Ha.
  • Sawaeng Ha (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แสวงหา ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Sawaeng Ha.

In addition, there are six " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Si Phran (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ศรี พราน ) consisting of the complete tambon Si Phran.
  • Ban Phran (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน พราน ) consisting of the complete tambon Ban Phran.
  • Wang Nam Yen (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วังน้ำเย็น ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Nam Yen.
  • Si Bua Thong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สี บัว ทอง ) consisting of the complete tambon Si Bua Thong.
  • Huai Phai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ห้วย ไผ่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Phai.
  • Chamlong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล จำลอง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Chamlong.
