Zavyolovskaya

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sawjolowskaja ( Russian Савёловская ; pronunciation ? / I ) is the name of a subway station of the Moscow Metro on the Serpukhovsko-Timirjasewskaja line (also called the "gray line") and a directly adjacent stop for suburban trains. Both stations owe their name to the Sawjolowoer Bahnhof , a terminus only served by regional trains, which is located in the immediate vicinity. Audio file / audio sample

Zavyolovskaya Metro Station

The Zavyolovskaya metro station was put into operation on December 31, 1988 as part of a northern extension of the Serpukhovsko-Timirjasevskaya line from the Chekhovskaya station that had opened a year earlier . With the completion of the metro station, the Zavyolovo station was connected to the metro network as the last of the Moscow long-distance train stations (to which it was still part at the time). Previously, travelers who wanted to reach the station by public transport had to use the Novoslobodskaya ring line station and from there take the bus or trolleybus . After it went into operation, the Zavyolovskaya served for a while, until the Serpukhovsko-Timirjasewskaya line was extended to the north again in March 1991, as the northern terminus of the line, which is why there are sweeping tracks in the area north of the station (which since 1991 have only been used to park trains Used at night).

The station was built 52 meters underground and has an entrance. This is integrated into a widely branched pedestrian underpass, through which you can reach the forecourt and the platforms of the Zavyolovo train station as well as, for example, the Zavyolovskaya stop (see below) and the intersection of the Dmitrover Chaussee arterial road with the Third Transport Ring. The other way round, the underpass leads to the counter hall of the underground station, from which long escalators lead to the platform.

The platform hall, which is designed as a three-part central platform typical of the Moscow Metro , is characterized by two rows of slightly curved massive pylons in white marble cladding, which are closed at the top by a semicircular vault. The hall is not illuminated, as is typical of many Moscow subway stations, from chandeliers, but from projectors hidden in the two cornices above the rows of pylons. The floor consists of pink-gray granite slabs. The walls above the tracks are clad with white marble slabs, which are additionally decorated with large mosaic compositions with motifs from Russian railway history, whereby the scenes recorded there (including, for example, historical horse-drawn trains , steam locomotives and also modern electric railcars ) are based on traditional Russian Lubok - Remember motifs.

Platform of the stop

The Zavyolovskaya stop was set up in 1964 on the inner-city connection between the two railways Moscow– Smolensk and Moscow– Kursk . In contrast to the neighboring Zavyolovo train station, which is a terminus , the stop Zavyolovskaya (which is sometimes confused with the train station due to the fact that it has the same name) is served by local trains passing through, which from here either to western (and thus via the Belarusian train station in suburbs such as Odintsovo or Golitsyno ) or in an east or south direction (and thus via the Kursk train station to Shcherbinka , Podolsk or Chekhov ). The stop only consists of a central platform, which is connected to the station forecourt and the underground station by a pedestrian tunnel.
