Depot and vehicles

There are two depots on the line . The depot Varshavskoye , which currently also serves the Butovskaya Line, founded in 1983, while the depot Wladykino 1991 was added. Both depots run trains of the 81-717 / 714 series, which is also the only series that has been and is in use on the line since it opened. Until 1992 all trains on the line consisted of six wagons each, in 1992 the number of wagons was increased to seven, and since the beginning of 2006 all trains on the line have been running as eight-car trains.

history

The Serpukhovsko-Timirjasewskaja line is one of the relatively young lines in the Moscow metro network. Its construction fell mainly in the 1980s and 1990s and was intended to relieve the two other north-south lines that were already in existence at the time. In contrast to the other lines of the Moscow Metro, the construction of the Serpukhovsko-Timirjasewskaja line is considered completed; further extensions and / or new stations are not planned.
