history
Shcherbinka has been known as a village since the 14th century. After the laying of the Moscow - Kursk railway line in the 1870s, which passed close to the town, Shcherbinka was given a small stop on this line in 1895 thanks to the efforts of the squire Sushkin . At the end of the 19th century a brick factory was built in the village. A few other, smaller factories were added in the 1920s. In 1939 the former village with the surrounding industrial buildings received the status of a workers' settlement ( urban-type settlement ), which officially became a town in 1975.
From 2005 shcherbinka formed as its only destination in a same city district of Moscow Oblast . On July 1, 2012, the Shcherbinka district was incorporated into Moscow and incorporated into its newly created Novomoskowski administrative district. Since then it has formed one of the eleven “municipalities” in the administrative district.
