Schönbichl is a place and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Amstetten in Lower Austria.
The place is south of Amstetten. The cadastral community consists of the Rotten Damberg, Doislau, Oberschönbichl, Pittersberg, Reith, Waidahammer and Wassering as well as several individual farmsteads and is accessed from the state roads L89 and L90. The Ostarrichi barracks are located in Schönbichl .
In the Franziszeischen Cadastre from 1822 the place and the surrounding settlements are clearly visible at the time. After the reforms of 1848/1849 , Schönbichl was constituted as an independent municipality in 1850. This was assigned to the Amstetten district until 1868 and then to the Amstetten district before it merged with Amstetten.
