Schönewalde

Schönewalde is a district of Sonnewalde in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1486. For a long time it belonged to the Sonnewalde lordship .

Culture and sights

A motorcycle museum has been located in the village since 1967, where 67 motorcycle models from 40 years of the GDR are currently being presented on an exhibition space of around 100 m² .

To the west of the village ditch in the southwest corner of a road intersection there is an atonement cross.

Regular events in town include the annual Schönewald brass music festival on the 3rd weekend in July and the large vintage car rally with a car parts market on the last Sunday in July, which is organized by the Lübbenau Motorsport Club.
