Goßmar ( Lower Sorbian Gósmar ) is a district of the town of Sonnewalde in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg .

history

A valuable Old Sorbian liturgy from the tenth century, the Goßmar manuscript, was found in Goßmar . The village was first mentioned in a document in 1231. As early as 1550, a schoolmaster (verifiable) was active in the village . The local church is one of the oldest in the area and was built as a fortified church . It has its own well system. In 2004 the roof of the village church was renewed. In the 20th century, the independent manor district Clementinenhof , which had been located in the southeast, was incorporated. On May 1, 2002 Goßmar was incorporated into the district of Sonnewalde.

geography

Goßmar is located in the southwest of Niederlausitz , about two kilometers south of Sonnenwalde and only about fourteen kilometers as the crow flies from Goßmar of the same name south of Luckau . Federal highway 96 runs west of the village . The next larger town is Finsterwalde , south of the village.

The local mayor and chairman of the local council is Fred Müller and the local council consists of two people.
