Schallplattenbar is a former radio broadcast that was broadcast on WDR 4's program from 2003 to 2017 . Andreas Herkendell is the inventor and presenter of the show. Next to him, the moderators Angelika Nehm and Horst Senker presented the program.

The first broadcast was on March 22, 2003. The program has since started with the voice of Egon Hoegen ("Here is West German Radio with its 4th program.") The content of the studio broadcast primarily included German-language light music that was published more than 30 years ago. In addition to fulfilling listener wishes, the work of singers, composers and lyricists was discussed on the occasion of birthdays. News of the death of well-known artists and performers were also reported here and reminded of them with one or more music contributions. There was a long tradition of documenting selected long-playing records that were played entirely in the program. Particular attention was paid to a. Burt Bacharach sings the portrayals of Marion Maerz - page one , to Roy Black (album) or to the LP "5 Years Internationales Schlagerfestival der Ostseeländer ". These documentations also served to come to terms with the history of German hits, as did the advertising discs “Die klingende Monatsschau”, which had been broadcast since 2007 and released by the East German record label Amiga .

CD for the broadcast

Two CDs have been released under the umbrella brand "Schallplattenbar": "Sonne, Süd, Amore" and "Bella Musica". Both recordings combine "Stars and Hits from Italy".
