Scharlibbe is a district of the municipality of Klietz in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

geography

The village of Scharlibbe is located on the Trübengraben 15 kilometers northeast of the district town of Stendal in the Schollene region . In the east lies the Scharlibber Heide forest area.

history

In 1351 Scharlibbe is mentioned as "Schorlubbe" when Archbishop Otto von Magdeburg and the cathedral chapter of Magdeburg compare themselves with Margrave Ludwig I of Brandenburg. Ludwig had to pay them compensation, for which he pledged Jerichow and the villages of Klietz, Schollene and Scharlibbe for 3,000 marks.

Originally, Scharlibbe was a parish village with a manor suitable for the state assembly .

On September 30, 1928 was Gutsbezirk Scharlibbe associated with the rural community Scharlibbe. On July 1, 1950, the community of Scharlibbe was dissolved from the district of Jerichow II and incorporated into the community of Klietz. On January 1, 1957, the district of Scharlibbe was spun off from Klietz. The community of Scharlibbe was dissolved again on February 15, 1974 and incorporated into the community of Klietz.

In 1905 the rural community had 325 inhabitants and the manor district 20 inhabitants. In 1939 the community had 344 inhabitants.

Attractions

Today's Scharlibbe village church was built between 1902 and 1906 according to plans by the district architect Engelbrecht from Genthin. The new building had become necessary because the original late Romanesque brick building from the end of the 12th century had been neglected to the utmost.
