Ludolph August von Katte , also Ludolf August von Katte and August von Katt (born September 4, 1711 in Scharlibbe ; † 1779 ) was a Prussian major and chief of the 4th Standing Grenadier Battalion .

Life

origin

Katte came from the Brandenburg noble family von Katte . His father was Heinrich Christoph von Katte (1675–1743), heir of Kamern and Scharlibbe, as well as Archbishopric Magdeburg Chamber President and Privy Councilor , finally governor of Calbe and God's grace , to the knight of the Prussian mercy cross . His mother was Ursula Dorothea, born von Möllendorff (1678–1747). The Prussian War Minister Heinrich Christoph von Katte (1699–1760) and the Prussian generals Johann Friedrich von Katte (1698–1764), Bernhard Christian von Katte (1700–1778) and Karl Aemilius von Katte (1706–1757) were his brothers. The Prussian field marshal Hans Heinrich von Katte (1681–1741) was his uncle.

Career

With the rank of major in 1751, he became commander of the 4th Grenadier Battalion from Lossow, which was newly established in 1746 and had its headquarters in Königsberg . His successor was Heinrich Sigismund von der Heyde (1703–1765) in 1753 .

He inherited in 1756 after the death of his aunt Katharina Elisabeth von Katte, b. von Bredow Wust and Kamern. He was also the heir to Mählitz, Sötlien and Scharlibbe.

In 1764 Katte was accepted into the Order of St. John and designated on advertising .

family

Katte married Katharina Marie Catherine Rollaz du Rosey (April 12, 1738 - April 11, 1813) in 1755. The marriage resulted in a daughter and five sons:

  • Christoph Philipp (1756 - 9.2.1760)
  • Auguste (1757--1761)
  • Friedrich Christoph Heinrich, Rittmeister in the Gens d´Armes regiment (1770 - May 20th, 1813 killed near Bautzen)
  • Christian Wilhelm Ferdinand, Royal Prussia. Chamberlain and Legation Lord (October 16, 1767 - November 21, 1845)
  • Otto Aemilius Herrmann (1772 - 30.6.1822), Rittmeister in the regiment gens d'armes and later royal Prussia. Major in the Garde du Corps regiment.
  • August Friedrich Karl, Royal Prussia. Major in the König regiment
