Look at!

Look at! ( Spelling : LOOK AT! ) Is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth , the public broadcasters Das Erste and ZDF and the AOK Federal Association . The initiative was first launched in 2003 under the motto LOOK OUT! What your kids are doing launched. Since 2013 the motto has been LOOK OUT! What your child does with Media. The Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth works together with the partners of the initiative to support parents and carers in questions of media education with information and advice, so that children can develop their media skills in age-appropriate use of media.

The technical background of the media advisor is provided by the two specialist advice centers JFF and jugendschutz.net and the SCHAU-HIN! Advisory Board. The specialist advice centers and the members of the advisory board review recommendations and tips and help to deal with new topics in a professional manner.

In addition, LOOK AT works! with the two media educators Kristin Langer and Dr. Iren Schulz, who are the initiative's media coaches.

Goal setting

The initiative aims to sensitize parents, educators and the general public to the use of media by children and young people between the ages of three and thirteen. Parents should be supported in accompanying their children in the use of media - according to the motto understanding is better than prohibition. LOOK AT!

Online, print and TV campaigns are carried out across Germany. Since 2013, the initiative has been publishing its spots with the invitation to LOOK! - What your child does with media ; the logo was also changed.
