history

The property belonged to the territory of the Principality of Palatinate-Neuburg under the Count Palatine Ottheinrich (young Palatinate). The feudal castle was in Burglengenfeld . The neighboring farm Gut Siegenthan had the special feature that the border between the young and old Palatinate ran through this property . ( Amberg ). The origins of the settlement go back to the end of the 16th century. The name Scheckenberg was mentioned for the first time in 1774. Before this time, the property was named in the church registers as “Schlegl Leithn” or “Schlegl-Hütte”. In the time before secularization , several families lived on the settlement. The foundation walls of today's house date from the 17th century . An earth cellar is laid out with fired floor tiles from the 18th century. Between the 17th and 18th centuries this was a place of residence for executioners , executioners and skinners from Bavaria and Bohemia . The community area Reichert mountain in Burglengenfeld points to the origins of the check mountain. The executioners, executioners and skinners were subject to the respective ruling jurisdiction and were subordinate to it. From the 18th century the property was used as an agricultural farm. In 1912 a water pipe was built to Vilssiegenhofen and a water reservoir was built between the Scheckenberg estate and Gut Siegenthan. The Way of St. James leads past the property , which starts at Tillyschanz and ends in Constance for the time being.
