It is located 3.1 km west of the Stadelhofen town center at around 472  m above sea level. NHN . The neighboring town to the east is the Stadelhofen district of Wölkendorf , to the west the Wattendorf district of Graefenhäusling .

history

The area around Schederndorf was probably settled as early as the Neolithic Age, as arrowheads from this time have been found in a field near the village. The first official mention can be found in the oldest ownership record of the church in Bamberg from around 1323 to 1328. From this it can be inferred that in 1312 Count Friedrich von Truhendingen received the Scheßlitz and Giech area as a fief, to which Schederndorf also belonged. When the Truhendinger family died out at the end of the 15th century, the property fell back into the hands of the church and from 1806 belonged to the newly founded Kingdom of Bavaria . Around 1840 Schederndorf had 30 houses with 188 inhabitants, belonged to the Scheßlitz district court and was parish in Stadelhofen.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Schederndorf was incorporated into the municipality of Stadelhofen.

Others

According to oral tradition, the name Schederndorf derives from a Mr. Schero, who had built a castle outside the village that no longer existed. In the middle of the village there is also a small church, which was built in 1886 in the neo-Gothic style . Schederndorf was also connected to the Upper Franconian long-distance water supply (FWO). In addition, there is currently a restaurant and a brewery with beer garden in Schederndorf, which has been family-owned since 1742. The name of the village changed in the course of time from "Scheddendorf" (still common in the region today) via "Schedderndorf" to "Schederndorf".
