Today, Schlüsselau is a district of Frensdorf in Upper Franconia .
Schlüsselau has a good 350 inhabitants. Neighboring towns are Herrnsdorf (municipality of Frensdorf) in the west, Röbersdorf (Markt Hirschaid) in the east and Jungshofen (town of Höchstadt an der Aisch , district of Erlangen-Höchstadt , Middle Franconia ) in the south.
The parish village is known for the Schlüsselau monastery founded by the Schlüsselbergers .
The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .
