The Bollingerfähr lock is a lock on the Dortmund-Ems Canal . It is located in Heede , a municipality in the Emsland district .

description

Old lock

The first lock chamber was built in 1896 using the embankment method and put into operation with the completion of the Dortmund-Ems Canal in 1899. It is 163 m long, 10 m wide and is closed with two mortise gates .

New lock

The new lock chamber was built in 1954 using sheet piling . It is 165 m long, 12 m wide and is closed with two sliding gates. A lift bridge leads over the lower head to the buildings at the old chamber. The lock is operated by the Meppen Waterways and Shipping Office at set times.
