The Schliersee shipping Mayr GbR is a tourism company based in the Upper Bavarian community Schliersee . The family business operates passenger shipping in line and charter services on the Schliersee .

history

In the late 19th century, the Schliersee was owned by the Bavarian crown and became the Krongutsverwaltung managed. On July 10, 1906, the company leased the fishing rights and contract shipping with oar boats to the Hoffischer Franz Schrädler, who in the same year started a regular service on the Schliersee with the 50-person ship Schliersee built at Lürssen- Vegesack in Bremen . During the First World War , shipping was stopped due to a lack of fuel. On May 25, 1925, Schrädler received permission to commission a second motor boat for 25 people called Fischerliesl , which was built at the Simmerding shipyard in Berg on Lake Starnberg .

After the seizure of power of Hitler in 1933, the National Socialist organization was Kraft durch Freude (Strength through Joy), which brought increasingly vacationers to the Schliersee. Because of the lack of fuel caused by the war, traffic had to be stopped again in 1941. The two boats of the Hoffischer Schrädler passed into the property of his wife Zenta after his death. This initially leased the larger Schliersee to Leo Krix from Hausham , who on July 26, 1950 received a permit for passenger shipping on the Schliersee. On August 9, 1952, he also leased the smaller motor boat Fischerliesl . Due to economic problems, he returned the two ships together with the concession to Zenta Schraedler on February 26, 1953. As a result, the Fischerliesl was scrapped. The operation with the remaining ship was continued and later taken over by the daughter Domenica Schraedler. In 1965, the Schliersee was sold to Lake Constance and replaced by the 85-person motor ship Schliersee II built by the W. Hitzler shipyard in Regensburg .

On June 30, 1967, Sepp Mayr took over the Schliersee motor shipping company from Domenica Schraedler. With the motorboat Schliersee (II) he again introduced a regular service including the island of Wörth . As tourism increased, he bought the Schliersee III, a larger motor ship for 120 people in Holland, in 1993 and sold the old Schliersee II to Northern Germany. In 2003 Sepp Mayr sold the shipping to a Mr. Mühlthaler for reasons of age and health. However, the sale was reversed in 2004. In 2008, the company was transferred from Sepp Mayr to his daughter Michaela Lauber.
