Strange Bedfellows (Original title: Strange Bedfellows ) is an Australian comedy film from the year 2004 . Directed by Dean Murphy , who co- wrote the script with Stewart Faichney .

action

The divorced businessman Vince Hopgood lives in a small town with 652 residents. He learns about a new tax-saving model that homosexual couples can use. Hopgood persuades his widowed friend, Ralph Williams, to pose as a gay couple with him .

Revenue investigator Russell McKenzie arrives to investigate Hopgood and Williams. The friends imitate the behavior of the homosexuals as faithfully as possible and visit a gay club in Sydney .

Reviews

The Lexicon of International Films wrote that the film was a "simple comedy" designed as a star vehicle for Paul Hogan. He entertains "modestly", where he renounces "nonsense and relevant clichés".

The film was in Albury ( New South Wales ) and in Yackandandah ( Victoria turned). It opened in Australian cinemas on April 22, 2004. On May 13, 2004, the film was shown at the Cannes Film Market and on October 15, 2005 - at the US Reel Affirmations International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival . The film was released directly on DVD in Germany, France and Russia.

The film rights holders accused the producers of the 2007 comedy Chuck and Larry of copyright infringement . They hired a law firm to take legal action.
