Screams of the Forgotten is a German television film from the year 2011. The Mystery - Thriller was 27 October 2011 on ProSieben erstausgestrahlt.

At the University of Stuttgart , scratched swastikas appear on windows and mirrors, and panes of glass break. The police believe the incident is a student prank and are reopening the investigation. The young Commissioner Bernau continues to investigate, especially since a similar incident happened 13 years earlier in a neighboring university building.
Bernau meets the para-scientist Professor Angerer from the University of Freiburg and his two students Marion and Oliver. With the help of a kind of ghost detector and infrared lamps, they research so-called entities and ghost appearances. In the basement of the university, Bernau meets the ghost of a seven to eight year old girl, which initially upsets him. Professor Angerer is fascinated because he himself has never experienced more than just sounds and light phenomena. The group is electronically monitoring the university building when there is a surge and Oliver is seriously injured by an exploding monitor. Only Bernau did not suffer any injuries. The group puzzles why the ghost girl is aggressive.
Angerer brings in the deaf medium Morgana Le Fey , who makes contact with the spirit. It turns out that they are actually twins with one of the girls being evil. It attacks the group and strangles Marion, but Bernau can save them. Since the ghosts are usually tied to a place, an object or a person, the group comes up with a person who was present at the current and the event for 13 years: 89-year-old Carla Klüver, who supports the university financially.
Morgana Le Fey gives clues about the lives of the dead twins. It was Roma on whom medical experiments were carried out in the Third Reich . Organs and blood were removed from them and stored for later research. Some samples were also stored at the University of Stuttgart, but neither the names nor the numbers assigned by the Nazi doctors are known. Therefore, Bernau wants to be put into a cold sleep in order to make contact with the girls in a near-death experience and to find out the names. As a ghost, Bernau pursues one of the girls and meets his dead brother, who was killed by burglars as a child about thirty years ago and to whom he could not say goodbye. Bernau is happy to have seen his brother again and remembers his mission. He finds the girl and her number tattooed on her arm. Angerer and Marion bring Bernau back to life.
You can find the stored organs of the twins in the basement of the university. Carla Klüver is arrested because she was the assistant to the doctors who carried out the experiments on the girls in 1943 and is therefore partly responsible for their death. The twins' remains are buried.

In November 2010 ProSieben announced the production of the film under the working title The Voices of the Forgotten . The main role was cast with Vinzenz Kiefer . This is the first film from a cooperation between ProSiebenSat.1 Media and the Ludwigsburg Film Academy . Lars Henning Jung is a graduate of the Film Academy and this is his first television film.
The film was made from November 4 to December 2, 2010 at the University of Stuttgart with the assistance of the dean.

One could undoubtedly have used the terrible twin studies of concentration camp doctor Mengele as a historical template for dramatic film material.
