The Schwarze Sulm is a brook from the Koralpe in Styria and the source brook of the Sulm .

The Schwarze Sulm rises at about 1715  m above sea level. A. on the Bärentalalm am Steinmandl  ( 1835  m above sea level ). It flows briefly northwards and then towards the southeast. It takes in the Seebach from the Speikkogel from the right , then the Goslitzbach from the Glitzfelsen . After a picturesque course through a deeply cut valley, it enters the West Styrian Riedelland near Bad Schwanberg and forms the upper Sulmtal . It passes Sankt Peter im Sulmtal (right bank) and Sankt Martin im Sulmtal (left bank). At Gasselsdorf and Prarath , where it forms part of the municipal boundary between Sankt Martin and Gleinstätten , it joins after a good 35 kilometers from the left with the Weißen Sulm to Sulm, a tributary of the Mur .

As a Natura 2000 area, the Schwarze Sulm is almost entirely protected.
