Scirè (S 527) is a service in the Italian Navy standing submarine of the class 212 A .
history
Scirè is the second Italian boat in the class, which is also called the “Todaro class” in Italy after the first boat Salvatore Todaro (S 526) . Scirè was built by Fincantieri in Muggiano near La Spezia and on December 18, 2004 after the submarine R.Smg. Named Scirè . In February 2007 the handover to the Italian Navy followed and then an intensive training and exercise program. On February 18, 2008, the boat received its naval flag in the port of Livorno , with which the boat was incorporated into the active fleet. On July 20, 2009, Scirè left for a training voyage lasting several months in the Atlantic. Stations included the Spanish naval base Rota and the Groton submarine base in Connecticut . Scirè took part in exercise CONUS 2009 on the US east coast . The return trip to Taranto took place in November and December 2009 via Ponta Delgada in the Azores and Catagena in Spain .
Home port of Scirè and all other Italian submarines is Taranto .
