Sean Dooley (born January 16, 1985 in Nelson , British Columbia , Canada ) is a former Canadian - Irish ice hockey player who last played for the Edmonton Canadians until 2011. Internationally he plays for the Irish national ice hockey team .

Career

Sean Dooley, who was born in Canada as a descendant of Irish immigrants, was selected in round ten of the 2000 WHL Bantam Draft as the 170th player by the Prince Albert Raiders . He played in the Republic of Ireland for the Dundalk Bulls , with whom he became Irish champions in 2008 and 2009, in the Irish Ice Hockey League . In 2010 he moved to Canada and played there for the Edmonton Canadians.

International

Dooley played for Ireland in the World Championships of Division II in 2011 and Division III in 2010 , when he was the third-best scorer with his compatriot Gareth Roberts and the Greek Georgios Kalyvas behind his teammate Mark Morrison and the Greek Dimitrios Kalyvas , and in 2013 . In addition to his playing career, Dooley was the head coach of the Irish selection at the U18 World Championships Division III in 2009 and 2010 .
